The BDI
testing process

The BrainTrip Dementia Index (BDI) reflects your current mental abilities.

The BDI is based on modern neuroscience and computer algorithms. It takes in your brainwave data and returns a score from 0 to 100 - the lower the score, the bigger the chances that you might be in the early stages of dementia.

Why is dementia
screening important?

Dementia is a disease that slowly robs you of everything that you hold dear. It makes you forget the names and faces of your loved ones, and it takes away all your precious memories.

It is a silent pandemic that affects more than 10% of all seniors. The longer you live, the higher the chances that you will also be affected.

Humanity has not yet developed a cure for dementia, but

there are treatment options that can help if dementia is diagnosed early.

However, the currently available diagnostic tools are not good enough to diagnose so many people in the early stages of the disease. According to some estimates, more than 75% of all demetia cases are undiagnosed and untreated.

We developed the BDI to tackle this problem.

The science
behind the BDI

The BDI is based on electroencephalography (EEG), the measurement of the brain’s electrical activity (or “brain waves”). EEG has existed and has been used by physicians for more than 100 years, but the technology remains underutilized.

With the dawn of fast computing, we can finally process EEG data quickly enough to extract hidden information from the brain. The BDI is based on decades of neuroscientific knowledge and our team’s expertise in processing EEG data.

BrainTrip’s
background

BrainTrip was founded by David Sakić and Jurij Dreo, a pair of lifelong brain enthusiasts, with backgrounds in cognitive science and neuroscience. Combined, Jurij and David have more than 20 years of experience in analysing EEG data, and they have been working on the BDI for the past 5 years.

BrainTrip’s main goal is to unlock the hidden potential of EEG as a screening and diagnostic tool.

Dementia is just the beginning. In the future, we will also tackle other brain disorders that lack objective diagnostic tools, such as ADHD and depression.
